Objectives: A method will be presented for rapidly determining the political viability of a project. This method indicates where changes may be needed to increase the probability of project success.Â
Methodology: Assess key stakeholders' behaviors for alignment with project goals using 4 key indicators that are simple and grounded in project and change management principles. The method is quick, reliable, easy to use, and readily understood. It is a great way for team members to communicate their views, get on the same page, and discuss the nature of any needed changes. This method is deceptively simple and relies on the Project Manager understanding both the project management and change management principles that underpin a successful project.
About the Presenter: Gary Monti has his PMP and has worked internationally in project- and change management for over 40 years. In addition to consulting he has taught project and change management principles to thousands of students. Work is based on his proprietary method, The Business Triad, which works at the intersection between the business, systems & operations, and people & politics. In addition to work in the project- and business arenas, this work has been greatly aided by his partnership with a clinical therapist. Gary has been a PMICOC member since 1983 and was chapter president from 1985 - 1987.
