How do you communicate with the members?

In addition to the chapter website which provides information on chapter events, the leadership team, and volunteer opportunities, periodic emails are sent to members:

Email “blasts” are sent out every 2 weeks, providing information on upcoming events, recapping recent activities, sharing job openings, etc.

Newsletters are sent out at the beginning of each quarter which include topical articles of interest to PMs, recognizes new members and certifications, and spotlights an individual member’s contributions to the chapter.

Social Media The chapter uses LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram and Threads to share up-to-the minute information about activities.

What types of events are available to members?

We try to offer 1-2 events each month where members can interact and earn PDUs. These events are a combination of in-person and virtual formats.

In addition, the chapter holds our annual Professional Development Day (PDD) each fall, which is a full day, once a year event, offering multiple keynote speakers and breakout speakers, and 6+ PDUs.

Can Non-members attend events?

Yes, non-members can attend PMICOC events, however, the price for non-members is higher than member pricing.

How can I get involved in the chapter?

There are lots of ways to get involved! We are an all-volunteer non-profit, so we depend on member involvement. Volunteer to be on the leadership team. Get involved in one of the Outreach programs that work with non-profits such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Volunteer to work at the annual Professional Development Day. Send an email to info@pmicoc.org if you would like to discuss opportunities to volunteer.

How can my membership help with my career?

In addition to the many opportunities to network with local PMs at chapter events, membership also provides opportunities for you to share your expertise and increase your visibility within the PM community. You could submit an article to the Quarterly Newsletter or make a presentation at the annual Professional Development Day (PDD).
