Speaker Bio :
Andy Burns, PMP
Andrew Burns is the President Elect of the South West Ohio Chapter of the Project Management Institute (SWOC PMI). A freelance writer contributing to Information Week, an IT Architect, Program and Project Manager, and a dedicated PMP, Mr. Burns approaches difficult topics with pathos and a wealth of experience. Mr. Burns has addressed the 2009 Global Congress in 2009 and several Chapter meetings in the past with a signature wry sense of humor, tempered by demonstrated dedication to the art and science of project management.

“Fixing the Broken WBS”:
What Is This About?
What is a good project estimate based on? What are the characteristics of a good schedule? Will the design of the Project Management (PM) role in the organization actually affect the type of estimates that add value? What is the path of least resistant allowing the flow of thought leadership from technical domain experts?
What Will Success Look Like?
The meeting intends to generate ideas and learning's on these and other topics by offering some humorous proscriptive examples. The presenter will discuss project-planning techniques refined to deal with various organizational structures. Attendees may receive templates designed to deal with various organizational styling at their request. The target audience for this event includes all those concerned with the strategies and tactics (art and science) necessary to deliver quality project estimation.
