| Job Description | The Columbus Dispatch is seeking a Project Manager. This professional senior level position is responsible for managing the activities of major application systems utilizing formal IT Methodology. Position requires considerable initiative and the ability to direct the efforts of staff members and influence stakeholders. Must have experience establishing original project methodology templates and process workflows. Project areas to be managed include enterprise wide and/or Dispatch technology systems.
Responsibilities include: Managing and controlling the activities of various Information System and functional staff members to ensure the timely and effective implementation of information systems. Managing projects through all phases; user requirements, specifications, design, development, and implementation. Interaction with various enterprise-wide companies and find common solutions to their technology needs. Review Statements of Work, proposals, and other documents to plan project activities, determine deliverables, and develop project plans. Manage vendor relationships required for project support and management. Participate in creating RFIs/RFPs as necessary. Lead vendor selection activities.
We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree with PMP certification, MBA preferred. Web and/or retail project management methodology and process experience highly desired, preferably from a web development, retail or consulting organization. Ten or more years of varying degrees of technical involvement in development projects with demonstrated success in project management of a major technology project. Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
